Inaccurate in maintaining room temp
By Ozzy from Jamestown, NC on 10/6/2009
Pros:
Easy Window Installation, Energy Efficient, Even Air Distribution, Quiet
Cons:
Inaccurate Temperature
Best Uses:
Bedroom, Small Room
Describe Yourself:
Quality Oriented
Primary use:
Personal
How long have you owned it:
One-to-three months
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This model has an LED readout and the temperature continues to drop about 6 or 7 degrees after the compressor shuts off, the sensor apparently being to close to the coil. This causes the unit to take a long time to come back on, the room has usually gone up 8 or 10 degrees.

Not a bad unit

Pros:
Accurate Temperature Controls, Energy Efficient
Cons:
Heavy, Uneven Cooling
Best Uses:
Any Room
Describe Yourself:
Value Oriented
Primary use:
Personal
How long have you owned it:
Three-to-six months
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Seems to cool well, but we had a very mild summer this year. F
The fan only blows forward and to the left. Consumer Reports said to the right, but that is the air conditioner's right, not the right as you are looking at the unit. I didn't realize this so it doesn't cool real well in the window we installed it in.
Sometimes on energy efficient mode, temp will say 75 degrees on the air conditioner, but it won't stop cooling even if you want it at 75 degrees.
I would recommend the unit, but only if the main part of your room is to the air conditioner's right.

Worked for one month, now useless

Cons:
Doesn't Cool Air, Heavy
Describe Yourself:
Value Oriented
Primary use:
Personal
How long have you owned it:
More than six months
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Installed and used for one month w/o issues. Went to install this summer and product would not cool. Tried to get serviced, no one will service. Talked to Haier Corp and all the service numbers they gave were not in business anymore or too expensive to consider. Now I am stuck with product and chasing after Haier for parts to work on it myself. I am an accountant, what do I know about air conditioners... Cannot believe this product was a CR recommended purchase. Do not buy anything Haier, is what I have been told by all techs that I have talked to... Come on CR, you're better than that...
