Comment:
We use this product in our bedroom but also blow the cool air out to the remainder of the house. For the size it does a surprisingly good job of cooling and taking the humidity out of the bulk of the house.
The noise of this air conditioner is no greater then the 6000 btu it replaced and other air conditioners we have had in the past.
The energy efficiency mode is good when we are away at work or on vacation and just need to maintain the temperature and the humidity at a reasonable level with out the unit running all the time.
Overall this unit works well but as expected for this type of unit.

Dehumidifier is a joke

Comment:
I bought this based on Consumer Reports' positive reviews and enthusiasm about the dehumidify mode. It doesn't dehumidify AT ALL, in fact upon turning it on, the humidity level in the room will often rise a few degrees before dropping to the original humidity level. I have had to purchase a separate dehumidifier, and wouldn't have bought the AC at all if I had known. Very disappointed. However, if you are only in the market for an efficient effective AC, this will certainly do the job.

Comment:
This is our third summer using this ac and we love it. It's quiet, good looking and energy efficient. I'm not sure what the other reviewers are comparing this to when they say its noisy. We have a Frigidaire that was highly rated by CR in our second bedroom and that unit is NOISY but at 1/3rd the price of the Haier it was a bargain but I certainly couldn't sleep with it running.
