Comment:
This unit is just fine - it works and was not difficult to install. It is both cheaper - but also less quiet than my other higher end Friedrich (x-star series). Quality-wise it is better than most other ACs I've had - but not up to the quality level of the higher-end friedrich units. But - I needed a smaller unit to fit in a smaller office window and this one works!

Comment:
I went through 2 of these units. The first one did not blow any cold air. The cool light just kept flashing. After a difficult install I returned it to [...] for another one. After installing it for the second time all seemed fine until I turned it on that evening and it was so loud it sounded like a motor boat. It was in a bedroom and it was impossible to sleep. The next day I tried it again and it was not as loud but the vibration was still very loud and disturbing. I then returned it a second time to [...] for a full refund and went to [...] and bought a Kenmore 8000 BTU Model #79081 for $200.00. This was cheaper, more powerful, smaller, lighter and easier to install. I have three other Friedrich A/C's which all work fine. It seems that Friedrich missed something on this unit, I also read somewhere that this unit is made by another company for Friedrich. It seems the Friedrich name is being tarnished.

Comment:
I just bought this model after returning two Kenmore 75062 due to their noisy compressor and poor dampening. It's a very quiet unit and worth considering for bedrooms and other noise sensitive environments.
I think it fairs better than what its rating might suggest.

Installation is a bit tricky, but worth the effort.
