Works Great but Very Loud

Comment:
My finished basement is about 1300 square feet, and I have the 70 pint version of this product. During the summer, this product has reduced the humidity in my basement from 75% to about 53%. If not for the pump feature, I would be dumping water almost every day during the summer months as I used to do with my old dehumidifier. Unfortunately, the fan on this dehumidifier is very load (even in low setting) and runs continuously. The problem is that we use the basement for the kids' study room, and we recently established a home theater down there. Needless to say, we have to turn off the dehumidifier when we're watching a movie. I'll probably buy the smaller version for the unfinished part of my basement since the noise won't matter as much in there.

Comment:
I have had the DeLonghi dehumidifer for just over one month and it seems to work well for my basement. Unless you use the timer feature, the fan runs all of the time, which is a disadvantage if you are using the unit in a living space. Since I am using it in my basement it is not a problem. The self-contained drip bucket could be a little larger. Eventually I will hook the unit up to drip into my sump so I am not too worried about the its water containment capacity. Overall, I rate the unit as average.

Not sure if its really working up to specs? I read the instruction manual and followed all instructions, but its not collecting water at 50 pints per day. I have tested the collection system and it is only collecting a pint or so per hour at most? does this mean that at 45 F it will only collect that much. It did bring the relative humidity down to 46% from 60% but can't it go lower? I purchased it at [...] for [$]. Will have to see how it does at 60 F. It is in the wet basement and I thought it would make it as dry as a bone....
