I've had the Gen3 model for going on 3 years now, and it still does fine with heating my entire upstairs (Approx 1200ft sq.). Sure it would blow cold air occasionally, but that was only because there is a filter on the back that needs cleaned out once in a while. Works just fine once that filter is cleared of dust.

Remote is nice for those mornings when its too cold to get outta be. Just crank up the heat and wait a few minutes.

I have been using less electricity with this model because I used to have to heat each room with base-board heating. Now this one heater replaces all of them and runs much more efficiently than they did.

Comment:
Bought the Edenpure USA1000 to use in our insulated workshop. Heated great! 65 F in no time! Wanted to hold 60 F. No temp gauge/markings on unit. Turned settings to lowest mark, but still keep heating! Nearing 70 F on digital thermometer across room. Tried for one week to lower the heat and worked thru the trouble-shooting section in manual. Edenpure's version of Customer Service (sub-contractor), idea of help was to read trouble-shooting section in manual to me when I called. NO such thing as TECH person to talk to. But, did find out that each setting on heater is supposed to equal 2 degrees, from 60 F to 80 F. (That info was not in manual!) Customer service said that if I sent them proof-of-purchase info, in 7-10 days they would mail me a return-authorization label. Then I could ship the unit to them, they would look at it and then ship it back. A 3 week minimum turn-around. Hello, it's winter and I need a heater now! Customer service then suggested that I box the unit up and take it to the store and exchange it. Instead, I boxed it back up and RETURNED it to the store as defective. After one week of my electric meter spinning frantically, no temp markings on the unit, less-than-informative manual and lack of customer service other than someone answering the phone, FORGET IT!
