Cons
Strong oily smell

Comment:
Until last week, I would have strongly recommended this item. After several years of dependable service, it suddenly developed a strong oily odor. No leaks were found, and the heater still functions, but now it stinks and efforts to burn-off the odor by running it full blast outside for a few hours has failed.

Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Comment:
I use this in my small office. My house is an old (1927), built farmhouse. I don't heat the upstairs and this does a great job at heating the 12'x 14' room. I have it down on the floor and behind me. You shouldn't sit too close to it. It throws alot of direct heat and I wouldn't touch the front of the metal cage because it does get hot, but the tip-over switch on this model is great. I would tell anyone to get it for good, quick heat.

Comment:
Great for areas where you are not moving too much, such as the Rec room. Because the exterior is very hot, you must use pot holders to move the heater.
