Leaks All Over
By Scott from Minneapolis, MN on 9/3/2009
Pros:
Easy to clean, Lightweight, Touchpad
Cons:
Did not last long, Fake chrome housing
Best Uses:
Shakes
How long have you owned it:
More than six months
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

We don't use this that often so even after having it for a year it really didn't go through many cycles or clean-up. Yet it is now leaking at the base to the point where it is unusable. Very disappointing from a brand name such as Cuisinart.

Pretty good blender
By Park5 from Takoma Park, MD on 7/21/2009
Pros:
Easy to clean, Used
Cons:
broke
Best Uses:
Crushing ice, Pesto, Protein shakes
How long have you owned it:
More than six months
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I had this model for over two years and I got it from someone who had used it for a while (not sure how long, it was pretty new). After using it for mostly protein shakes, including crushing ice and frozen berries, it finally broke. The part that is connected to the base that spins the blade broke off (plastic) so I ordered a new part and when it got here I realized I couldn't replace it because part of the part that broke was still connected to the center rod that spins. In the meantime, I broke part of the motor trying to get it off. The company was responsive when I ordered the part, and all of their replacement parts are available on their website (blades, tops, etc). Overall I think it lasted a pretty long time for the use it got. I am now trying to decide if I should get the same one again or a new one with a better rating. This one doesn't have a high recommendation by CR, but some of the other ones that do have bad consumer ratings. Wish me luck.
