I purchased this blender/food processor combo for the conveinenece and space savings. I thought Cuisinart was a good brand. It works great, but only for 2 months. The first time I purchased it, after approximately 2 months, the locks at the base shredded while the blender was going. I returned it and got another one (thinking I just got a defective model). I got another and about 2 months later, the same thing happened, the locks at both bases shredded. I only used it a few times a week to make smoothies.
