Comment:
I did my homework on this, my dream blender for slushies and icy drinks. My daughter had her tonsils out and I knew this blender would rock! Nope, the thing leaks! It worked great the first few times, then started leaking out the bottom. I even called Kitchenaid and asked them before I bought it. They said all problems were fixed. Wrong. I forked out [$] for this piece of trash! Fortunatley I was able to take it back to [@]. Don't buy this blender. I am not renewing my membership with consumer reports. Thet got this wrong. I'll do my research online for free.

Comment:
The Kitchen-Aid design is flawed because the drive coupler between the base and the blade mechanism is not sufficient for doing heavy blending. We tried to make smoothies and this drive coupler melted for lack of better description. If you search the internet you will find hundreds of dissatified customers who have experienced the same issue. This blender is insufficient for chopping ice or frozen fruit to make smoothies. Look elsewhere.
