There are blenders... and THERE ARE BLENDERS!!!

I love a smoothy, when I get in from a bike ride, run, etc.
Toss in some yogurt, bananas, soy protein, etc.; any blender can handle this and if this is all that you want, then get any blender. I've been through a couple of the $40-$60 any blender class of machines.

On the other hand, if you want a BLENDER.... If you want something that has no fear, that chews through ice cubes, etc. with Herculean ease, which practically dares you to find something that it can't handle... Well, in the past six-eight years that this beast has been thoroughly tested with all manner of challenge, nothing has been too tough for it.

It lacks the bells & whistles of the $40-$60 Chinese-made multi-buttoned wimps but this two-speed wonder will do anything that you want it to, between its two speeds (Three, if you count Off ---Zero--- as a 'speed').

This is one appliance, in our kitchen, that has witnessed the coming and trashing of any number of other appliances rating little more than toy status compared to this blender.

If ours gave out tomorrow, I'd be heartbroken if I couldn't replace it with the same make and model. It's a very simple, reliable, behemoth, though and I expect it to be making smoothies long after all my teeth have fallen out.

I have no commercial interest in Waring but find it hard to withhold praise when a truly superior product performs so well.

It's noisy, Yes! But when you've got 1-1/2 horses turning icebergs into smoothies right on your counter, what do you expect. Keep it out of the baby's nursery and you'll be fine with it.

Comment:
I don't understand the poor rating - it makes/blends any drink you want from ice drinks, malts, smoothes , pancake batters any thing very quick, thorough and easy. One flip of the switch. Reduces a pitcher of ice in seconds. Is the easiest of any blender to clean I have ever owned. You go to any other site where the consumer rates this product and it is highly rated. CR is beginning to lose it's credibility with me - bought a CR recommended product a few months ago and I think that product is worthless
