We're on our third pitcher in a year, We use it mostly for smoothlies. Replacing the pitcher costs $40, so you're really buying a blender that is going to cost well over [$] for the first year.

Smelled like burning plastic from very first use and about a year ago, the pitcher started leaking from bottom exterior which creates a big mess all over the place. When I tried to resolve with customer service, I the only resolution offerred was to pay for a new pitcher at cost of over $50!!! Half the cost of a new blender! Will never buy another KitchenAid product.

I make a smoothie almost everyday with fresh fruit. Today, my smoothie contained the little grey O ring seal which broke in half. There is no way to replace the part - one must buy a new jar! I don't think so...Kitchenaid has now lost my interest in their dishwasher, if this is any sign of their quality.
