Cons
The most inept design
Unstable
Best Uses
Decorative item
Comment:
At second use, the contents washed on the kitchen countertop, as the base of the pitcher disassembled accidentally when I lifted it off the engine block. This thing is not stable at all and requires more care and attention to prevent messes than I am willing to give. So I used the blender only occasionally, maybe 6 or 7 times in 2 years it stood pretty in a corner of my kitchen. The last time I used it however, the electric engine burned up with a nasty smell (health hazard?). I had to open the windows for an hour in the middle of New England's winter to get rid of it (just an attempt, really. Didn't manage that completely) Anyway, as it turns out, this pricey appliance manufactured in Mexico does not have any overload safety, any circuit breaker, at least none that I can see and reset. What a scam! My trust in Krups as a brand is GONE, never to come back again. German brands? Well, Volkswagen (out of yet another mexican factory) let me down too... Now I am happy with Nissan. Anyone knows a good brand to replace Krups - forever...?

Best Uses
Frozen Fruits and Veggies

Comment:
I have been using my Krups KB720 Blender almost every day for about 2 years so far.

I am very happy with it.

I make a raw vegetable / raw fruit smoothie just about every day as my main meal, and I max out on the blender - it is filled to the brim when I am finished.

I like the built-in auto shutoff switch which automatically turns off the blender if there is too much stress on the motor. It does this instead of burning out the motor. After a few minutes you can turn it back on. (*See note below).

I also like the size of the glass container itself. Most blenders don't hold that much, and are too small to add a variety of fruits and vegetables.

In my smoothie I add an apple, banana, raw Quaker oats, milled flax seed, spinach, kale, broccoli, carrots, frozen strawberries, frozen mixed berries, whey protein isolate, and sometimes I add beets and asparagus. (There are other variations, and I don't add everything mentioned all the time. It depends on what I have at the time or what is in season etc.)

All the fruit and veggies are raw, and uncooked, so the blender is very powerful to be able to liquefy everything.

I also add some Vfusion, and water.

If I go a little overboard with large chunks of hard raw veggies that I did not cut small enough (such as raw beets) the blender will shut itself off, as I mentioned above, if it detects stress on the motor, instead of burning out the motor. Then after a few minutes you can turn it back on. But rarely does it auto shutoff since I generally cut up the fruit and veggies first which is recommended in the manual.

Also, as far as cleaning, I take everything apart (jar bottom, blade/washer, lid etc.) after each use and wash everything, and then easily reassemble it.

I definitely recommend the Krups KB720 Blender.

*NOTE

I thought the blender motor burned out after only a few uses, but then I figured out it has a built-in auto shutoff switch which turns off the blender when stress on the motor is detected. (Such as when I added raw beet leaves and stalks along with the raw beets to my smoothie without cutting everything up). It shuts off the motor in stressful situations like this instead of burning out the motor. After waiting a few minutes you can turn it back on. BUT if you remove the blender from the motor stand, and then try to turn on the motor, it won't work because you need to place the jar on the stand first, which will insert a flat plastic pin on the bottom of the jar into a flat slot on the motor stand, and then it will work because it presses a safety switch.

Broke after 12 uses

Pros
Chops ice well
Cons
Blade hard to reinsert
Best Uses
Crushing Ice
Comment:
I crush Ice and make smoothies. Made 12 over 1 1/2 years and machine broke (part that pitcher fits onto came off). I liked the way it crushes ice but it is difficult to reinsert blade after washing.

The machine was expensive and was a waste of money for 12 uses. It is out of warrantee so it is not worth paying for mailing and to fix it.
