We have owned this for about 2 yrs. the motor just now is giving us problems. I love the blender so much, and would recommend it to anyone. When our base cracked, my daughter got creative and used PVC pipe glue it worked just fine. Now trying to contact company about the motor to see if there is anything they can do for me. But our overall experience with the Blender has been remarkable. The base cracked last year, but like I said my daughter got creative and fixed it. And it cracked because I put it in the dishwasher to wash it, which it tells you NOT to do. We've had no other problems until now.

Comment:
The online authorized distributor purchase arrived with the pitcher base cracked. I was surprised because its polycarbonate (albeit very thin) and expected excellent durability.

The vendor supplied a new pitcher. I attached the blades being careful not to over tighten the assembly and it worked fine for two weeks but developed an similar crack at the base again.

The manufacturer is currently not acknowledging a design flaw and suggested the blades were overtightened to the base.

We use the L'Equip both as an all around blender and as a raw juicer. It rivals that of the one's advertised on late night TV for a much lower cost. And, for all our uses, is comparable to the Vitamix. There are two key advantages to the L'Equip: power and control. At 20,000 RPM's, it pulverizes all of our raw foods, ice, etc. in seconds. The variable speed control allows us to start our juices slowly and then rev up. The key weakness is the pitcher. We have not had a failure, but it has begun to frost around the bottom. So, it may only be a matter of time. Other than that, we are extremely pleased. A real hidden gem.
