About - Cuisinart Crystal SCC-1000 Limited Edition Perfec Temp

The Cuisinart Crystal SCC-1000 Limited Edition Perfec Temp is part of the coffeemaker test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, drip coffeemaker models like the Crystal SCC-1000 Limited Edition Perfec Temp are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Brew performance:
The ability to reach 195° to 205° F for five or six minutes, the industry standard for optimal brewing.

Convenience:
Reflects ease of filling the reservoir, placing the filter, gauging the amount of coffee remaining, and cleaning up. It also reflects how clear we judged the controls.

Carafe handling:
Covers handle comfort, tendency to drip while pouring, balance of a full carafe, and how easy it was to empty the last liquid. Models with no score here brew into single-serve cups or are brew-and-dispense models. The latter hold the coffee in a tank; you fill your cup by pressing it against the dispenser lever.

Comment:
I have found the Cuisineart SCC-1000 to do everything I have asked of it and it also makes a great brew with a couple of different settings for brew strength. I have had it now for a little over 6 months with no breakdowns.<br />I would have no problem recommending this product, my only gripe is that it's a little pricey at $200

Comment:
This is the third one of these. First one lasted a long time. The second one, the heating element went out about the 8-10th month. Bought a third and heating element is gone as of today 8/16/14. It is SIX months old. We make 6 cups in the am and the same in the pm. Another waste of money. Cuisinart is living on their name and history. However, they DO NOT have a future. Junk, junk, junk.
How long have you owned it:
Three-to-six months
Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
