Terrible coffee maker!!!!!
By Disappointed with this Kenmore product from Citrus Heights, CA on 12/30/2009
Pros:
Brews Quickly, Easy To Use, Large Pot
Cons:
Coffee Doesn't Stay Hot, Loud, Parts in lid rusted
Best Uses:
Everyday
Describe Yourself:
Everyday Drinker
How long have you owned it:
More than six months
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

When pooring coffee, it drips about 2 tablespoons of coffee. Consequently, the base the carafe sits on is stained and it sometimes sticks to it. Wire springs in the lid started rusting within 3 months of owning it. The lid where you poor the water into, finally fell off after about 8 months and I have to put it on evrytime I brew a pot of coffee!! The coffee is not 195 degrees even as soon as it is brewed. It isn't even really hot..about a step above warm, so consequently even with the thermal pot it can't keep the coffee warm. It is the worst coffee pot I have ever owned. I'll never get another one and I certainly do not recommend it!

We owned this coffeemaker for about 6-8 months and loved it despite the beeping every 15 minutes letting us know that the coffee was losing its freshness.

Well this morning I brewed a pot and after the cycle was complete, I heard gurgling noises coming from the maker and that the wall, cupboard and countertop were wet. My husband did some investigating and found a small screw attached to a piece of broken plastic sitting in the water reservoir. Whatever piece this broke off of caused the gasket to become loose so that the water could not flow through spreader....just out the back. (It sounds exactly like the same problem as the other reviewer!)

Needless to say, we will not be purchasing another Kenmore in the near future.

This is the second Kenmore coffee maker. The first was on recall. This time it became extremely hot & did not pass all the water through the coffee basket. Upon thorough review, the water spreader inlet device is a pivoting two piece plastic with a gasket seal held together by a tiny screw. When the plastic embossment the screw goes into failed the inlet device separated & the gasket dislodged.
I will never own another Kenmore coffee maker!!!
