Received this pot as a gift to replace a 20-year old espresso pot and a 10-yr old standard pot, that had both began to fail. Within days, a small plastic part broke off the espresso pot's lid... Materials are such a poor quality plastic that the espresso maker's lid cannot effectively seal in steam, which fills a concave receptacle, so that it must be wiped out with a paper towel. The milk nozzle has a bizarre rubber end that cannot be easily cleaned wither (compared to the old one's hard plastic nozzle that unscrewed easily.) Other surfaces seem to gain a static charge that attracts coffee grounds/film, even in the bottom of the water reservoir, that cannot be rinsed out, but must be wiped. Takes a full fifteen minutes to brew 8 cups of coffee, which never get fully hot. Both pots, from the first use, cannot pour without dripping all over the counter... Fir the life of me, I cannot imagine what the Mr. Coffee development engineers were thinking -- in an effort to make this enormous appliance appear sleek and curvy, they sacrificed every aspect of functionality... We kept it so as not to hurt the feelings of the giver, but literally curse the bloody thing every morning. Just say, NO!

DO NOT buy this. Everything a coffee maker does, it does BAD. Takes forever. Coffee stays barely lukewarm. No matter how you do it, you are GUARANTEED to spill when pouring coffee from the carafe. Go to see user reviews on [@] for further proof of this product's dismal design. I wish my wife had before she bought this. We may give it to our daughter in college, if we can get over the guilt associated with placing this device with anyone we don't wish pain on!
