This oven lasted three months. The door hinges broke off. They sent a new oven and installed it,this one lasted four months.Exactly the same problem door hinges.I refused their offer of installing a third one.I asked them if there was a recall on this oven due to this hinge problem and of course they said no.I honestly think there aware of this problem but don't want to do anything about it.It's horrible.
How long have you owned it:
Three-to-six months
Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

FGB24T#ECD 24 Double Gas Wall Oven Stainless Steel
01/14/2010
Strength
NONE
Weakness
Bad hinges and control panel.
I bought this oven to replace my old one. This was the only one that would fit into my wall space. I paid $899.99 for it from Best Buy. It was installed on May 24, 2008. The control panel went out along with the hinges sticking to the point of ripping out the screws. This was repaired March 23, 2009, still under warranty. Brand new hinges were installed and brand new control panel. All had to be ordered took 1 week to be delivered and another week to be installed. Now I have no warranty. My control panel is out and I can't get the oven doors to open. I had to lift and remove my hot oven door to get the food out. I have contacted Frigidaire and the would in admit to the problems with the hinges. They said to contact a repair man. You would think they would at the least furnish the parts. DON'T BUY THIS OVEN !

Bad door hinges
06/13/2009
Strength
fit into existing space
Weakness
Door hinges bend and stick. Broiler burner turns off too soon. Oven temperature not accurate.
This oven was the only one we could find to replace an older O'Keefe & Merrit without changing the cabinet. Unfortunately it has the same defect as the old one it replaced: that is the door hinges bend and cause the door to stick closed when the oven is hot. Eventually the hinge is ripped off tearing out the screw hole in the metal where the hinge attaches. Several other people have written of this same defect. Be ware!

Doors fall off. no self clean. safety hazard!!!
We purchased this oven summer of 2007. Thinking it would be simple.. I took it home to do a self install. Took out old oven, put in the new one.. fit like a glove! Turned it on... no fire. nothing. Called service... they came out. found Manufacturing defect... a wire INSIDE the unit had never been hooked up (so therefore this one had never been tested). 6 months later... the door jammed... found that the hinges were bending the frame making it jam up. Called service. We were told unserviceable.. need replacement oven. and this has happened before so watch your replacement. Service nicely installed the new one. Upon opening the door, I could see that the metal around the hinge is very soft... wondered how long it would last. Answer... with NORMAL PERIODIC USE (PLEASE believe me, we were NOT trying to break it... MAYBE used 20 times), the door jammed in the closed position with food inside. the only way to get it out was to force the door and pull it off the unit. upon examination, found that the metal around the hinge screws had pulled out at least 1/4... (see attached photos) NOTE: there is at least one other user who had the same issue with this oven. I believe that it is a design defect with the unit. We have now called for another service, and expect to receive similar answer that cannot be repaired. We are not taking another one... we want our money back.
