The touchpad started failing just after the warranty ran out. Cost to replace was very high ($150 part cost, I replaced it myself).<br /><br />Controls seemed intuitive, but they didn't always do what I expected and I actually had to read the manual! ;-)

I have the MEW6530 which was recommended by CR. Control panel started to fail after 2 years - the bake and broil buttons stopped working. Maytag warranty only lasts 1 year, but for the price, it should last longer than 2 years. The repair would have cost over $300, but we were able to find someone to sell us a control panel for wholesale and replaced it ourselves with some difficulty. Also, after checking online, seems this is a recurring complaint, but Maytag had no record of it.
