Comment:
THIS MACHINE LOOKS GREAT AND SEEMS HEAVY DUTY. IT IS ANYTHING BUT. THE FIRST ONE I BOUGHT STOPED WORKING AFTER 1 MONTH. I RETURNED IT FOR AN IDENTICLE MODEL THINKING THAT I RECEIVED A LEMON. THE SECOND UNIT LASTED 1 MONTH AND A WEEK. I BARELY USED EITHER OF THEM. IT IS NOT LIKE I OVER USED THEM. MY LAST 7 CUP CUISINART LASTED 6 YEARS. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Comment:
I love this food processor! I have the 12 cup/two bowl model. It's fast, quiet, has a strong motor, and the locking blades and second smaller bowl are such great features. The included accessory case is great to have.
My one and only complaint is that you have to clean it right away in order to keep food from sticking in the gasket. If you get the lid rinsed and washed right away (I find that dunking it up and down quickly in soapy water works great), you won't have any problem with food in the gasket. And of course it has this gasket for sealing the lid well, so it needs to be there. I just have my soap and water ready when I plan to use it, and it's really not that big of a deal.
I use it most often for making pie crust dough, but use it for shredding, slicing, and everything else as well.

Comment:
When the plastic post on the shredder of my 20 year old Cuisinart broke, I decided to use the opportunity to upgrade. I bought the FP14-DC being the newest and top of the line. I particularly liked the idea of the three bowls, and this feature does work well. They also did a very nice job with the Storage Case Bundle, solving the problem of having sharp objects in a drawer full of ladles and other kitchen odds and ends. However, there are several problems with the design. The shredder simply doesn't work well. When you push your carrots/beets/cabbage/whatever down, it shreds them nicely but there's about 1/4-inch gap between the shredder blade and the cover, so the last quarter inch of your vegetable winds up not getting shredded and you have to open the top, take out that 1/4-inch piece, and chop it by hand. Terrible!! A lot of the 1/4-inch chunks wind up down in the bowl and you have to pick through your shredded veggies to find them and chop them by hand too.The top is a bear to clean. Little pieces of food get stuck between the gasket and the top, and it's very hard to get in there and clean them out. I find that running (wasting!) a stream of water at high pressure will help, but you also have to stick something in there (I use a sharp knife) to get food out. Yuck, who wants little pieces of rotting food in the top which might fall into your next dish?!These problems were evident to me on my first use. Don't the people at Cuisinart try their product before foisting them on us? I bought this because I trusted the brand after many years with the old food processor. Going forward, I will be reading reviews much more carefully and Cuisinart will not get a pass.I regret this purchase and even though it's [$] I am considering buying something else and donating this one.
