Comment:
I loved using this food processor, although I'd recommend being very, very careful when cleaning the blades.
The plastic screw covers broke in less than a year, without heavy use. Then the plastic over the spindle broke - over a year after I bought it. Now we have to decide whether to try to repair or replace, as it's not usable as is.
If it hadn't broken, I'd give it 5 stars - I love using it! I'm not happy that we've had two breakages in less than 2 years of light use. One was minor, but the other is major.

Good performer of tasks, but...

Comment:
The only thing that I didn't like about this unit is Kitchen Aid's selection of the thin, 2mm slicing blade included as the only slicing blade in the accessories. This size slicing blade is almost useless for me, and I suspect most other individuals would agree. A far better choice for me would have been the medium 4mm blade. That size produces a little thicker slice needed for dishes like au gratin potatoes. I don't know what I would use the 2mm disk for, maybe potato chips? Meanwhile, I have had to purchase the 4mm disk separately from Kitchen Aid.
Other than this issue, the unit performs very well, even kneading dough for bread and pizza.

Strength
Love the small inscert for smaller mixing. Great for making smaller recipes.
Weakness
A bit difficult to clean.
My husband got me the 9 cup kitchenaid food processor for Christmas. I have already used it for quite a few recipes. It took some geting used to as I never used one before. I was glad that it has plastic bowls as they are easier to maneurver. I washed it by hand, but it will probably be easier in the dishwasher. Looking forward to trying new and exciting recipes.
