Cooktop high:
This reflects how quickly the most powerful element could raise a 6-liter (6 1/3 quart) pot of water from room temperature to a near boil.

Cooktop low:
This reflects the ability of the lowest power element to melt and hold chocolate without scorching it. We also set the most powerful element to its lowest setting to test its ability to hold a large pot of tomato sauce below a boil.

Comment:
My husband and I don't cook a lot. Simple things but then we host all the holiday meals for a large family. I do like to bake. Difficult to predict if it will burn the cookies or take forever to cook simple ginger cookies.<br /> After about six years of being used a few times a week and replacing the coils twice, it just stopped heating anything all at once. The clock still works though. It was cheap and worked that way.
How long have you owned it:
More than six months
Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
