Safety - Porcelain cooktop overheats

Comment:

When cooktop is in use, the porcelain becomes dangerously hot. If the burner is on higher than medium+, surface gets to the point of inflicting burns when touched.

We purchased the porcelain top model,but I don't recommend it,because the tops are cheesey.I've had 3 tops on this stove and now the 3rd is now chipping around the burner opening.This is an otherwise awesome stove.Many great features,a great oven and well controlled burners.<br />But the porcelain top is no good and no one from GE will listen.

I am happy with this one. Love the ease of cleaning,the burners are removable, the pans are coated so they clean up well and don't stain,the cook top lifts up for cleaning spills. The large oven is great, much bigger than my last one, and bakes evenly. If there is a con, it would be the bottom drawer that is a little small. Overall great for a coil top stove.
