I have a Maytag range, model number MER8772 which was delivered 15 Dec. 2010. I made my first call for service 17 Jan.<br /><br />Since that time, I have been trying to get it to bake properly. I have had numerous service calls and although they have replaced the control panel (more than once), sensors (more than once), and the element,once it still underbakes and the cake usually falls.<br /><br />I have been educated by the Techs as to the cycling of the temps and the acceptable range but,apparently my baked goods don't get it. I still say that something is wrong.<br /><br />Because THEY can't find anything wrong, they will not replace this lemon. It appears that I have nothing better to do than report failures in baking and have been told that I just need to adjust my baking recipes to the stove!!<br /><br />Thanks for the opportunity to inform others.

This stove takes long to pre-heat.<br />The flat top surface scratched easily.<br />Good for the casual cook.<br />Looks nice in the kitchen.

Purchased a Maytag ceramic top with convection 2.5 ago. Electronics failure just beyond warranty was repaired no charge by Whirlpool (which purchased Maytag). The repairman had trouble ordering the correct part and took several visits to complete the repair. Repaired due to safety issue. Cost would have been $250. Now at 2.5 yrs again have another electronic failure. I am not willing to take another chance on this oven. It is time to move forward. The range looks good. The oven is pretty good. Other than that it is pretty poor for anyone who likes to cook. The range and oven take forever to warm and forever to cool. Pans must be completely level to work. Difficult to use a Wok. Anytime a pan heats over or anything gets on the bottom that becomes a major cleaning liability. Other than that, reliability and cost of repairs are the major issues. Any of my recent Maytag purchases have been disasters. Spend more or less and buy a better product.
