About - Maytag MGR7665W[B]

The Maytag MGR7665W[B] is part of the kitchen range test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, gas range models like the MGR7665W[B] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Cooktop high:
This reflects how quickly the most powerful burner could raise a 6-liter (6 1/3-quart) pot of water from room temperature to a near boil.

Cooktop low:
This reflects the gentlest burner's ability to melt and hold chocolate without scorching it. We also set the most powerful burner to its lowest flame to test its ability to hold a large pot of tomato sauce below a boil.

Baking:
This reflects the evenness of cookies and cakes in multi-rack baking tests.

Comment:
Grates slip and slide as they do not fit properly. On the photo of this product, look at where the grates meet in the middle, the two dots on either side are where the foot on the grate should fit. 2 inches off! The grates do not fit this closely in the center either. The grates slip nearly 2 while cooking. I have had spills and burns caused due to this problem as the liquids in pots and pans slushes as the grates move. Maytag has sent me two different styles of grates and they still do not fit properly. If you want to purchase this item, take mine! I would be happy if they allowed a return of this item.
How long have you owned it:
