Watts This is the manufacturer's figure of the microwave power output. In general, the more watts an oven offers, the greater its cooking power-and the faster your food will be cooked. That said, differences in claimed wattage of 100 watts or less are unlikely to result in significant differences in performance.

Convection mode A few microwaves include a convection oven feature, which has a heating element and a fan that distributes heat. In convection mode, you can set the oven temperature as you would in a traditional oven to bake or roast items.

Stainless/SS-look option Stainless-steel is stylish, but it shows fingerprints. Another option: a vinyl-covered metal finish that gives you a stainless-steel look but resists smudging.
We primarily bought this microwave based on Consumer Report's recommendation. Big Mistake! In the past I have used consumer reports recommendation over going to stores and trying out many appliances to save time and avoid getting stung. It worked against me in this case.

We bought this microwave to make better use of kitchen space and to replace an old and unattrictive hood.

After paying for installation and a new shelf we turned on the stove top light and found that the stove is now unusable. The 20 Watt halogen bulb only dimly lights the stove making it difficult to use the stove.

I wish the Consumer Report's Test Engineer which created the objective tests that ultimately allowed this microwave to get a Best Buy rating would have considered the impact of the microwave on its environment.

This microwave has reduced our utility, not improved it.

Only used it to heat coffee so far and that worked well.

Epic Fail!

Comment:
We use our microwave mostly for popcorn or heating liquids, so it was a few weeks before I discovered that the three buttons in the middle row as well as the melt/soften button do not work. Called for a repair; was told it would be over a month before repair part came in. Agreed to a replacement...and the replacement had the very same problem from the start! Going to go with another model: disappointed in supposed Kenmore reliability.
