Freezer Fan Freezes Ices Up

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

We have had the refrigerator for 5 years have had it repaired three times for the same issue. The freezer fan constantly ices up and although the freezer stays cold the fridge gets to 65 degrees. I have tried manually defrosting the unit, but it only works for a week or two. I have lost hundreds on dollars in groceries.

We have had our Amana bottom freezer refrigerator for 11 years. Up to this point we have not had any problems, but now the freezer is not working at all.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

We have had our Amana bottom freezer model for almost 10 years now, and have recently been noticing issues with items not freezing. Our local repair person diagnosed the problem as a broken compressor. I asked him if this was due to the age of the appliance, but he said that we should expect it to last beyond 10 years. After reading the other reviews, it sounds like Amana has a serious issue with their compressors. Hopefully they can rectify this in the near future. At this point, we are in the market for a new bottom-freezer refrigerator, but we will not be considering Amana.
