About - LG LFC25765[ST]

The LG LFC25765[ST] is part of the refrigerator test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, bottom freezer refrigerator models like the LFC25765[ST] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Temperature performance:
This combines results of tests measuring the accuracy of initial temperature settings along with how well a model 1) kept optimum temperatures in the refrigerator and freezer at the same time; 2) kept temperatures even throughout each compartment; 3) kept temperatures constant despite changes in room temperatures; and 4) maintained set temperatures even with very high room temperatures.

Energy efficiency:
This reflects electricity consumption (based on our tests) per cubic foot of measured usable storage space. For example, two models with the same energy cost per year may have different energy efficiencies -- the unit with more storage space being more efficient.

Noise:
Noise level was measured when the compressor started up and during steady running. Subjective judgments by a panel of listeners supplemented our noise-meter readings.

Comment:
I have had my LG Refrigerator for a little over 3 years and the refrigerator part stopped working...it no longer got cold not even cool...I unplugged it and left it unplugged for approximately 5 minutes then plugged it back up and waited 30 minutes to check it and it still was not working...I checked the temp and took it down 1 notch still did not do anything. I called Sears and they offered me to buy service plan which would cost 279.99 that would last for only 1 year and as long as any work that need to be done does not exceed &500 within a year! Needless to say I am upset...wish I would have gotten a normal refrigerator they lasts forever and a day! MODERN TECHNOLOGY sometimes is a waste of time!

Comment:
We replaced an old, but still serviceable, Ammana with this LG, and immediately noticed two differences: amazing quietness, and lots more interior space in a fridge with the same foot print as the old one. The freezer provides adequate space for our use.<br />The only minor flaw is that you can only get one one-gallon container on a door shelf.

Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Comment:
The fridge gaskets have plastic clips that keep the doors closed. 2 weeks after my 5 year warrantee expired the plastic clips broke and you have to replace the entire door gasket. You cannot purchase one gasket, you have to purchase 2 gaskets with labor cost over $400. Three months after they were replaced, they broke again. I had to fight with LG for 3 months regarding this defective part. They finally agreed to replace the parts but it will still cost me $150 to for labor to replace them.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
