I didn't buy this particular model of compact refrigerator, but I had a bad experience with another Haier compact Model C-RNU1708B for which I paid about the same amount of money. I purchased this NuCool model on January 11, 2009. It stopped cooling in October 2009. I called Haier and they agreed to send me a replacement unit which I received and put into service in November 2009. The replacement unit quit cooling in July 2010. Again I called Haier, and this time they said I was out of the 1-year warranty period, the start time for which they say was the original purchase date (Jan 11,2009). My contention is that they should honor a 1-year warranty on the replacement item, but Haier remained firm that the warranty only applies to the purchase date. I think this is totally wrong and I won't buy another Haier product because of it.
