Comment:
We got this one because it was quiet...at least what is what the company said. However, this is very noisy...we live in the country and unless you live next to a rail station dont get this one...lots of clunking and grinding and knocking. And we don't even have the ice maker...go figure. Good luck...

Great energy efficient basic fridge

Comment:
Bought this to replace a failing 17 year old 18 cu. ft. GE fridge - needed this size since newer 18 cu. ft. ones are now too tall for my 1950's kitchen cabinet space. I was suprised at how roomy it was, vegetable bins a little smaller, but not a deal breaker. And the gallon door bins are very deep and useful. Temperature performance very good, though only a single thermostat for both freezer and fridge sections. Freezer is fairly large if you don't opt for the icemaker. Normally very quiet when compressor is running in steady-state, but does make occassional intermittent whining rumbling noises during the cycle, so not totally whisper quiet -- at this price-point, I'm not going to complain. Energy usage is superb - 324 KWh. Glass shelves are nice and solid - easy to clean; plastic bins are a bit flimsy, but are holding up fine. Overall, a great economical and efficient basic refrigerator for smaller households - nearly equivalent in capacity to an 18 cu. foot model.
