Comment:
We got this so our 13yr old could make snacks like toast or heat up french fries or chicken nuggets.we have only had it 10 days when it failed.we turned it on oven and set it to 450 and walked out of the kitchen only to hear a pop about 2 minutes later.i walked back in to see what the noise was and the glass door had shattered.I will be returning this product for a full refund as i feel it is not safe. Any member of my family could have been hurt reaching for the handle when it exploded.
How long have you owned it:
A month or less
Bottom Line
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Decent toaster, ok toaster oven
05/31/2008
Strength
convenience of 2 appliances in 1, space saver, attractive, inexpensive, wide tunable browning range
Weakness
no broiling capability
Have used to toast bread, reheat pizza, toast garlic bread, reheat hot sandwiches. A slightly above average toaster, and a slightly below average toaster oven. The toaster does not over-dry the bread, and results in nice crispness to the outside. The toaster oven tends to dry or have less heat than expected, but can be mitigated with the workarounds mentioned below.Usability notes: 1) The long slot generally accommodates 2 slices of bread; however, 2 slices of wider bread might not fit easily without trimming the side crusts. 2) The metal sheet that slides in place over the slot when used as an oven does not provide much insulation, and so heat escapes more rapidly, causing the heating element to stay on to keep the temperature up, which could end up burning the food inside. A workaround solution is to place a heat safe item over the closed metal slot to retain the heat - I use a silicone potholder.3) Although broiling capability is not provided through normal use, it could be simulated by cranking the oven to the highest temperature, and leaving the door cracked so heat can escape, so the heating element would stay on.

so disappointed
06/30/2007
Strength
compact and nice looking
Weakness
no broiler means NO TOASTING
I didn't only want traditional toast, I wanted to put butter on biscuits or english muffins and toast them until they were golden brown. I wanted to be able to melt cheese until bubbly, without using huge amounts of electricity or heating up my kitchen with my regular oven. The name toaSTATION implies that all your toasting needs will be met here. For me it was a huge let down and a complete waste of money because I still have to use my oven to do most of my toasting, unless all I want is a dry piece of bread.
