About - LG DLE2516[W]

The DLE2516[W] is part of the clothes dryer test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, electric dryer models like the DLE2516[W] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Drying performance:
This score combines performance on four types of laundry loads of different sizes and fabric mixes: A 12-lb. load, predominantly cotton, representing a family's large weekly load; an 8-lb. load of all-cotton items; an 8-lb. load of cotton/polyester blend clothing; and a 3-lb. load of synthetic delicates, women's pajamas, nightgowns, bras and underwear.

Capacity:
Among the models we tested, drum volume varied from about 5 to 8.0 cu. ft.

Convenience:
For this measurement, we judged controls and ergonomics, such as ease of loading and unloading, servicing the lint filter, whether the door could clear a tall basket, and whether the machine has a raised edge to contain spills.

Full size in a small space
By FredWine from Palm Desert, CA on 11/5/2009
Pros:
Adjustable Temperature, Easy To Use, Energy Efficient, Large Capacity, Quiet, Works Quickly
Best Uses:
Bulky Items, Delicates, Everyday Clothes, Sheets & Mattress Covers, Towels
Describe Yourself:
Frequent User
How long have you owned it:
Three-to-six months
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I stacked this dryer on top of LG washer in a tight space in the bathroom. It really is full size. The moisture sensor works great. A load may start out with a time remaining reading of 45 or more minutes but since the washer has a great spin cycle the clothes (even towels) are usually dry in 25 minutes. The dryer shuts off automatically when clothes are dry.
You can customize the heat, dryness and time, but the shortest manual cycle is 20 minutes.

Good dryer
By SwoopyDawg from Deer Park, TX on 9/17/2009
Pros:
Design, Easy to use, Quiet
Cons:
Damp clothes on occasion
How long have you owned it:
Three-to-six months
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We have three kids, so we use this dryer often. We have had no problems with it other than some damp clothes on occasion. I really like the style, the quietness, and the ease of use. The end-of-cycle alarm is a quiet melody, but can also be turned off. We need to replace our washer with the same brand. Good product for the price!
