Comment:
All laundry detergents, with the exception of this year's cheapest, are grossly overpriced. None work magic on clothes, and even the worst clean about as well as the best.

One thing i've noticed is that good, affordable laundry detergents disappear quickly and permanently from the grocer's shelves. One large retailer offered a laundry detergent by the name of Simplicity. It was hypoallergenic, non-toxic, and worked very well, nearly as well an the top-rated detergent available at that time (according to Consumer Reports). It was also about half the cost of the top-rated detergent.

I went to the retailer to get some more Simplicity one day, and--lo--it was nowhere to be seen, nor was there even a location of the shelves for it. I contacted the grocery and store managers for information, and neither could--or would--tell me anything. Same story from the retailer's national headquarters. Sounds more than a little curious to me. So whatever became of Simplicity? Bought out by some large laundry detergent manufacurer, who quickly viewed Simplicity as a worthy competitor, which it definitely was, or Xed by the retailer because it yielded a lower profit? I don't know, but something about the laundry detergent industry is highly quastionable. The same is true of large Americn retailers.

I do not have, nor have I ever had, any relationship of any kind, with any company was makes, distributes, or sells any lundry detergent. I in no way benefit from my opinions about laundry detergent or any other products, aside from being an end-user of the products I purchase. The foregoing words are my opinion, nothing more.

Comment:
I have tried other liquid products, like Tide, and I don't find that it cleans as well. When I smell it, my brain automatically thinks 'clean'. I have to use unscented fabric softener because it doesn't seem to smell as good when used with Downy or Bounce, and because most scents make me sneeze. I personally stopped trying other detergents because they never seemed to get the job done right.

Comment:
I've tried Wisk on several different occasions because it is highly recommended by CR. Each time I've forgotten that it causes an allergic reaction for me. A very itchy rashy in different areas starts showing up over a couple of weeks. Once I stop using the detergent and re-wash all my clothes with a different product, the rash goes away.
