My wife uses this more than my and I think her biggest complaint would be going from carpet to hard floor. The attachment used for carpet does ok on hard floors, you can turn off the spinning brushes, but the head is bulkey and heavy. There is a different head though that is easier to use but its not so easy to just change on the fly. The carpet head works great, going up stairs with it isn't the most fun but you manage. The cord could be longer in my opinion as well but overall this has been a great vacuum. Dumping the canister is easy and you can see when its time to change it and how much dirt is coming off your floors. I'd recommend this to others.

After doing a ton of research, even buying two vacuums, testing and returning them, we bought the LG Kompressor in September 2011 (reviewing as of January 2014). It's fantastic at picking up everything from hardwood, tile and carpet. It's easy enough to switch attachments and to empty the canister. We use it 3-4 times/week to clean up after 2 kids and 2 heavily shedding dogs in about 1400 square feet (single story). Forget the low option (you may never use it), but the high option is great and still relatively quiet for a powerful vacuum. I adore this thing when it works. The problem is how frequently it DOESN'T work. We've got a stock in the closet of replacement damper assemblies, as this cheap plastic part breaks every few months and the vacuum sounds like something's stuck inside. We also clean the washable filter every-other time we use it (though you need a second because it takes days to dry completely). Even with that, we're still cleaning out clogs and my husband is using a compressor to blow-clean the mesh filters every month or so. It's driving me insane and we're back to researching for a new vacuum because I'm tired of fighting this one.

Comment:
We have had this vac for over a year and it has worked better than any other. Easy to access all of the internal areas for those inevitable clogs (socks, etc) and easy to clear. It is very satisfying to see the dirt that has been removed. At first I was concerned about the size of the dirt container. As it turns out, it is not a problem. The compressor arm turns it into a brick that is easy to dump in the garbage bin.
