The 33-pound, bagless Rainbow e-series E-2 canister vacuum gives you the option to manually adjust its height to match your carpet's pile. It also includes a brush on/off switch for cleaning bare floors such as hardwood and vinyl without scattering dirt. Along with a 24-foot, cord, this model comes with HEPA filtration for sifting out particles and reducing emissions, which can be especially helpful for those suffering from allergies or asthma. It also has suction control, which allows you to change the flow of air when cleaning lighter items such as curtains and heavier ones such as upholstery. The vacuum has a full-bin indicator so you know when the bin needs to be cleaned out.

Bag Denotes whether the model has a disposable bag. A growing number of vacuums, particularly upright models, use a container that can be emptied, eliminating the bag. To capture fine-dirt particles, however, these models must use a filter (such as a HEPA filter) that can need routine cleaning or replacement. Replacement filters tend to be significantly more expensive than bags. While vacuums with bags may also use filters, the bag acts as a prefilter that helps to keep the fine-dirt filter cleaner, thus extending its performance until cleaning or replacement. Another caveat: Emptying the dustbin and cleaning a filter can be messy, and handling it may expose you to dust and other allergens.
Weight (lbs.) Weight of the vacuum cleaner, to the nearest pound.
Brush on/off An on/off switch for the rotating brush lets you stop the brush from rotating when using tools or cleaning bare floors. This helps eliminate scattered dirt on bare floors and reduces the risk of injury if the vacuum tips over during use. It also reduces the risk of damaging a carpet or the finish of a bare floor if the vacuum sits in place at the low-height setting.
Easy on/off A switch that's located on the handle or where your foot can activate it is more convenient than one on the body of the vacuum.
Manual-pile adjust Lets you adjust the height of the machine to a carpet's pile height to allow for easy movement and thorough cleaning. Adjustments are automatic on some models, but we prefer the manual control afforded by some models.
Growing up in Hawaii we had one, it was great at getting up all the sand we tracked indoors. When I married I saw my mother in law had one. I knew how well they cleaned and decided to take the plunge when I was presented with the opportunity to purchase my own. I LOVE my Rainbow. I have tested it out by using my old vacuum and then going right behind and vacuuming that same room with the Rainbow and seen what is left behind. I cannot deny that the Rainbow is far superior than any other vacuum I've used as far as suction and clean air. There is no moldly stuffy smell left in the room. It sucks the dirt left under the carpet. You are able to use the attachements for all the different surfaces, hardwood, tile, carpet, curtains, window sills, ceiling fans, etc. I highly recommend this vacuum. There are no bags to replace. The only con I have is that it can be heavy especially if you have stairs you have to carry it up and vacuum. As an added bonus, I have added scents to the water and while vacuuming, it spreads the refreshing scent throughout the house. I love it.
How long have you owned it:
More than six months
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
Rainbow E2 system - Hard to beat!
Easy To Empty
Easy to Use
Long Power Cord
I would like to say this unit is not 33 lbs. Maybe if you added all the attachments (the powered floor unit is 8 lbs or so). The unit itself is about 18 lbs without water, maybe 20-22 lbs with water. 4 wheels roll easy on most surfaces. i don't find it getting caught around furniture, etc. Rolls easy. The best feature of the E2 is Powerful suction and no bad smells on exhaust. The water turns to gray soup very quickly. That's all dust and dirt!
