About This Brand

Bissell positions its upright vacuums to meet specific consumer preferences and needs. Healthy Home models target consumers who want to “breathe easy” by reducing allergens; the Pet Hair Eraser is meant to appeal to dog and cat owners. Bissell products are available at a wide variety of discount stores and mass merchants, including Wal-Mart, Target, and Kmart. Upright models range in price from $40 to $270. Bissell also makes hand and stick vacuums, canisters, compact hand extractors, upright deep cleaners, and bare-floor cleaners, and makes carpet-care products under the Woolite brand.

Bissell focuses less on canisters and has just two models, priced at $50 and $230. Bissell canisters are sold through the same retail stores as their other vacuum products.

Comment:
powerful suction picks up dirt and lint from carpet, wood and tile floors and around the litter box. Excellent value. Cleans better that my new dyson DC25 which I will be returning to the store.<br />The Bissell does make noise and the foam filter needs wash often (that's the only thing I don't like)

Comment:
I have carpet, hardwood, and stairs; this vac is only good for the carpet. Must clean the whole thing each time I use it (3x/week!), emptying the dirt cups, removing filters etc is EXTREMELY DIRTY. As for design- the tools are held where a handle needs to be to carry the vac on stairs. On hard surfaces it just spews little particulates everywhere (the brush doesn't switch 'off'). Now, 9 months old, the unit is not functional- the beater brush is frozen in place, need a new one; filters are flabby from frequent washing, and it has eaten 3 hard-to-find belts. I would never recommend this vac.

Bissel Cleanview Helix--ugh

Pros
Powerful/Good Suction
Cons
Bad smell
Constant maintenance
Best Uses
Carpet
Comment:
Every time you use it you have to take apart the filters and clean everything. And when you wash the filters and the cups and put them back in, there is a horrible smell. This is way more work than a vacuum cleaner should be.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
