Summary:This 17-pound bagless upright from Bissell is relatively lightweight and has a full-bin indicator, easy on/off switch, and brush on/off switch. It has HEPA filtration and a 25-foot, manual-rewind cord. It lacks manual pile-height adjustment and suction control.
As its name suggests, this bagless upright is relatively lightweight at 17 pounds. It features a full-bin indicator that should let you know when to empty the dustbin. It also has a switch to turn off the brush when vacuuming uncarpeted flooring, which can make the machine more efficient on bare floors, where the spinning brush tends to disperse dust and debris. This model has HEPA filtration, which is designed to block fine particle emissions and may be helpful for people with allergies or asthma. It has an easy-to-reach on/off switch and a 25-foot,cord that rewinds manually. This model lacks manual height adjustment to raise and lower the machine to match the carpet's pile, and there's no suction control for vacuuming curtains and upholstery. This model is similar to the Bissell ProLite Multi Cyclonic 17G5-2.

Bag Denotes whether the model has a disposable waste bag. A growing number of vacuums, particularly upright models, use a container that can be emptied eliminating the bag. However, to capture the fine-dirt particles, these models must use a filter (such as a HEPA filter), which can need regular cleaning, or replacement. Replacement filters tend to be significantly more expensive than bags. While vacuums with bags may also use filters, the bag acts as a prefilter that helps to keep the fine-dirt filter cleaner thus extending its performance between cleaning or replacement. Another caveat: Emptying the dustbin and cleaning a filter can be messy, and handling it may expose you to dust and other allergens.

Brush on/off An on/off switch for the rotating brush lets you stop the brush from rotating when using tools or cleaning bare floors. That helps eliminate scattered dirt on bare floors and reduces the risk of injury if the vacuum tips over in use. It also reduces the risk of damaging a carpet or floor if the vacuum sits in place on the low-height setting.
Brush on/off

Easy on/off A switch that's located on the handle or where your foot can activate it is more convenient than one on the body of the vacuum.

Manual-pile adjust This feature adjusts the height of the machine to a carpet's pile height to allow for easy movement and thorough cleaning. Adjustments are automatic on some models, but we prefer the manual control afforded by some models.

Weight (lbs.) The weight of the vacuum cleaner, to the nearest pound. If you expect to carry your vacuum up and down stairs, consider a lighter vacuum (under 20 lbs.)
It's advertised as having automatic height adjustment. In reality there is no height adjustment.
I bought it because it looked like the most advanced vacuum on the market. It's not.
However, there's a separate motor for the brushes so that they can be shut off on hard floors or when the machine is stopped.
But the attachments make the vacuum unusable for most household duties. There's an elbow attachment which bends and it's designed to hold the other tools. The tool that holds it is designed to rotate for ease of use. But the elbow tool Always bends abd the holder always rotates to the position of least resistance - exactly what you don't want. Plus, the tools always fall apart. Absent super glue they're unusable.
2 stars because it doesn't damage hard floors.
- jrobino

Comment:
We used this on carpet, and it did an excellent job picking up dirt for a while. After owning it for few months, though, a rotating piece that holds part of the vacuum together broke off. This created terrible messes at times because the vacuum would lose a piece while vacuuming and dirt would spill. The vacuum also got stiff on the rear axle, which caused the front to come off the ground while vacuuming. The last straw was when we started cleaning up pine needles from our live Christmas tree. This caused relentless clogging. This continued clogging seemed to gradually weaken the suction to the point of making the vacuum unusable. This sleek looking vacuum has turned into a miserable, expensive headache in less than a year. In the first few months, it seemed like one of the best vacuums that we'd ever used, but when the problems started, they snowballed. The reliability is the problem, and the 5-year warranty is apparently useless. I simply got a barely-English-speaking individual who wanted to walk me through disassembly, for troubleshooting, over the telephone. The broken part wasn't covered and there was no indication of actually honoring the warranty because of the poor performance.

Comment:
The vacuum is hard to push on some carpets, but does pick up every carpet dirt.

The attachments are extremely difficult to manage. The connections are weak, so there is the need to constantly put the pieces together.

I've given up on using the attachments; it's not worth the effort.

Buy a different machine. Bummer, it was a great concept & I really wanted it to work.
