About This Brand
Hoover is positioned for the consumer who vacuums regularly and appreciates a deep clean. It introduced its first vacuum in 1907 and has established itself as one of the most recognizable brands in this country. More recently, Hoover was bought by TTI Floor Care, the owners of Dirt Devil, from Whirlpool. Hoover sells a wide variety of uprights in mass-market retailers, with models ranging in price from $50 to $300. It also makes hand and stick vacuums, canister models, deep cleaners, central vacuums, bare-floor cleaners, and an outdoor sweeper.
Hoover has a more established presence in canister vacuums and makes about a dozen models, priced from $80 to $300.
Features & Specs - Hoover WindTunnel Pet Rewind UH70210
Bag Denotes whether the model has a disposable waste bag. A growing number of vacuums, particularly upright models, use a container that can be emptied eliminating the bag. However, to capture the fine-dirt particles, these models must use a filter (such as a HEPA filter), which can need regular cleaning, or replacement. Replacement filters tend to be significantly more expensive than bags. While vacuums with bags may also use filters, the bag acts as a prefilter that helps to keep the fine-dirt filter cleaner thus extending its performance between cleaning or replacement. Another caveat: Emptying the dustbin and cleaning a filter can be messy, and handling it may expose you to dust and other allergens.

Brush on/off An on/off switch for the rotating brush lets you stop the brush from rotating when using tools or cleaning bare floors. That helps eliminate scattered dirt on bare floors and reduces the risk of injury if the vacuum tips over in use. It also reduces the risk of damaging a carpet or floor if the vacuum sits in place on the low-height setting.
Brush on/off
Yes
Easy on/off A switch that's located on the handle or where your foot can activate it is more convenient than one on the body of the vacuum.
Easy on/off
Yes
Manual-pile adjust This feature adjusts the height of the machine to a carpet's pile height to allow for easy movement and thorough cleaning. Adjustments are automatic on some models, but we prefer the manual control afforded by some models.
Manual-pile adjust
Yes

I have to agree with the other negative reviewers here. I have had good luck with Hoover products in the past but they really missed the boat on this one.

First, the hand tools never worked. There was not enough suction to even turn the impeller on the pet hair remover.

Second, after owning for about a year, mine started doing this random shutting off that everyone else described. I assume it is overheating. I'll vaccuum for a few minutes, it will shut off and won't turn back on until it cools down completely.

In short, this is a bad product.

I only vacuumed one room before this vacuum broke. The plastic that attaches the wheel cracked & broke and the roller brush kept falling out. I was really disappointed because it did a good job of picking up dog hair but broke too easy.
