I use it on laminate hardwood, carpet, pet hair, furniture, and stairs. It is great on picking up EVERYTHING including all the pet hair. I didn't like the stair attachment with the brush because the brush just seemed to shoot the larger pieces of dirt out the rear of the attachment. It is a little bulky to carry upstairs, it would be great if one could detach the canister so it was easier to get up and down the stairs. Over all, I will only buy Hoover from now on! This is my second one and my first on lasted almost 14 years!
