About - Panasonic MC-UL915
---
This 21-pound bagless upright from Panasonic comes with a brush on/off switch for moving between carpeted and bare floors without scattering dust and debris. It features a 35-foot,manual-wind cord and a full-bin indicator to mark when the bin needs emptying. The Panasonic MC-UL915 also offersHEPA filtration, which is intended to block fine particle emissions and may benefit people with allergies or asthma. Many models without HEPA filters do just as well at reducing dust emissions, however. This model lacksaneasy-to-reach power switch and suction control; it also does not have a manual pile adjustment feature to raise or lower the machine for different carpet-pile heights.

I HATE vacuuming, and have spent the last 6-7 years searching for the perfect vacuum. (It doesn't exist...) Thought I had it in the Shark Infinity (some parts broke frequently but they had great service), then Shark discontinued the Infinity and went to the Navigator, which I returned in two days. I have used the Kompressor Pet, which worked great for 2 weeks, then just did not even clean the floors well. My house is mostly hardwood floors with a few throw rugs. This model does not have different power settings like some pricier models, but for little rugs like kitchen or bathroom, the attachable pet brush works fine. It would otherwise suck up the little rugs on the carpet setting. I do have one 5'x8' thick rug and it is VERY hard to push on that, but it picked up lots of carpet powder that my Kompressor had left! Though it is heavy if you have to lift it to a second floor, I found it very maneuverable when in use. The hose reaches a long distance, and hose suction is superb! I have two long-haired dogs and 4 cats, and hair was not a problem. I have had other vacuums get clogged with fallen leaves from all my houseplants, but this one was fair dinkum! (That's Australian for pretty good!) I like to be able to switch from floor to couch/stair/cobweb vacuuming easily, and this model is easy. All the attachments are within reach and work well. The dust canister is rather small in relation to the hair I pick up, but it is easy to empty. So far, I haven't cleaned the filters or anything, so I don't know if that will be a problem. I have found previous reviews to be most helpful in the 'used over 6 months' category, so I'll post again when I've had it for that long...

This has been the best sweeper we have ever had! I would recommend this over the other, more expensive, yellow upright! We needed a new sweeper that would do a better job of picking up dog hair when our son started crawling and this has been a wise investment!
