About - Bosch Vision 500 Series WFVC5400UC

The Bosch Vision 500 Series WFVC5400UC is a front-loading washing machine available from Bosch. The Vision 500 Series WFVC5400UC typically costs $1000 .

Consumer Reports recommends that you match the features on a model to the needs you have. Here's our take on some of the specifications and features that are commonly available on front-loading washing machine models like the Vision 500 Series WFVC5400UC.

Energy star:
The federal Energy Star program, administered by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, identifies a wide range of home appliances that use 10-50% less energy and water than standard models. These appliances can help you use less energy at home and save money on your utility bills.

Stainless-steel tub:
Tubs constructed of stainless steel are likely to be more durable than plastic or porcelain, and they allow for higher spin speeds. Plastic is the next most durable choice.

Auto temp. control:
This feature automatically mixes hot and cold water to reach the chosen wash temperature (which differs on various makes of washers). It's a good way to compensate for normal variations in tap-water temperature and prevents problems caused by water that's too cold, which keeps detergent from working properly.

Tested Model
The Ratings of Bosch Vision 500 Series WFVC5440UC were applied to untested model Bosch Vision 500 Series WFVC5400UC, which in our judgment is enough alike in its performance, features, and specs that our test results apply to both.

Comment:
Purchased this machine and was so excited as Bosch was supposed to be the best for front loaders - NOT!!! I have had this machine for a few years but I have had to replace the rubber casing TWICE, yes twice and it was $200 each time. It broke both times but happy to replace as it got moldy and smelly despite wiping the water out after each use (total pain) and keeping door open (again a pain). Hate this machine but I'm stuck as I have too much money invested. Love my Bosch dryer so much, but the front loader - hate it. BTW, first time I have ever written a review as I never felt this strongly about any item before but this is a very expensive item and I want people to know the big problem with them.

Comment:
Do not Buy a Bosch front loading washer. The rubber gasket aroun the opening gets mildew all around it. I wiped it dry and left door open as instructed. A wide open door is awkward in a walk-thru laundry room.Your clothes smell and it needs contant cleaning with special products. A terrible washer.

Comment:
I have owned this washer for 1 1/2 years only to be EXTREMELY dissappointed and completely frustrated! Washer door locked my clothes in washer, called a Bosch certified appliance repair service-after 3 service calls, $300.00, 1 1/2 days off work(to wait for repair service) ruined clothing and stressed about whether my clothes will be locked in washer, I am buying a front load washer! 1st service person diagnosed the problem 2nd replaced door latch, worked for 2 days, 3rd service call, replaced new board and now will have to call again to get clothes out of washing machine!! Most expensive piece of junk ever owned!
