About - Electrolux IQ Touch EIFLW50L[IW]

The Electrolux IQ Touch EIFLW50L[IW] is part of the washing machine test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, front-loading washing machine models like the IQ Touch EIFLW50L[IW] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Washing performance:
This reflects the degree of color change to swatches of fabric that were included in an 8-pound and maximum capacity test load of mixed cotton items using the machines' most aggressive normal cycle. (We do not use special cycle or option buttons.)

Energy efficiency:
This score is based on the energy needed to heat the water for 8-pound and maximum loads using a warm wash and cold rinse. We consider both gas and electric water heaters, and include electricity needed to run the washer and energy needed for drying. Washers that extract more water are scored higher.

Water efficiency:
This score denotes how much water it took to wash our 8-pound load and each machine's maximum load. On models that didn't set the fill level automatically, we used the lowest fill setting that sufficed for the 8-pound load. We then calculated water used per pound of clothing.

Comment:
We have a washer and matching gas dryer. Cleans ok but overpriced. Push button main control weak and if you push it in to make it flush it will not come back out easily. Door design stupid pressure closure.

Comment:
I have the Electrolux washer and dryer on pedestals. They look terrific; the washer has a 1200 spin speed which gets clothes much dryer than my old washer and so reduces time spent in dryer; I like to sanitise my bedding and this works well; all washes come out looking pristine; i like to add bleach to whites and this works well; the programs are easy to set; the machine runs quietly; get one - you will be delighted!

Comment:
I love this machine. I've had it for four and a half years now without any problems mostly because I really separate my clothing not just by color but by weight of material. I was wondering why CR has not yet published reliability ratings for Electrolux Laundry products.
