The GE washer was fine for two years, then suddenly we couldn't wash towels, blankets, sheets any longer without violent thumping, shaking etc.

We tried various load variations according to the manual and we continually had to stop the wash and readjust the towels, etc. When we got tried of it banging into the walls and violently shaking & thumping we called the GE repair man who said front loaders do this all the time. He ran diagnostics on the digital display, and charged us $80.

That was six months ago. Since then the washer has:
** leaked all over the floor 3 TIMES.
** The violent thumping occurs no matter the size of the load or selected cycle.
** It stops in the middle of the load no matter what cycle for no reason and you have to restart it.

I wish I could say to people sure you can wash comforters, sheets, blankets but for a large capacity washer it doesn't do the job.

I am totally unhappy with my machine. It worked well for the first two months or so but after awhile it started to let less and less water inside. After awhile it got so little water a face cloth could drink up the amount of water that entered in the washer. After 3 GE techs came to make repairs to control board and to something else, it still has not worked correctly. Well currently I am in the process of getting PC Richards to return it and refund my money. Would not tell anyone to get this one, no matter the cost.

Comment:
This washing machine does a great job of cleaning all the laundry for our large family. We wash a lot of clothing and other items (bath towels, bedding, and blankets), and so far it has handled the large loads very well.

I even washed our queen size down comforter, and it came out beautifully.

We wash delicate items on the hand wash setting, and we've been very happy with the results.

Our washer and dryer live in our very humid basement/garage.
