About - GE GFWH2400L[WW]

The GE GFWH2400L[WW] is part of the washing machine test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, front-loading washing machine models like the GFWH2400L[WW] are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Washing performance:
This reflects the degree of color change to swatches of fabric that were included in an 8-pound and maximum capacity test load of mixed cotton items using the machines' most aggressive normal cycle. (We do not use special cycle or option buttons.)

Energy efficiency:
This score is based on the energy needed to heat the water for 8-pound and maximum loads using a warm wash and cold rinse. We consider both gas and electric water heaters, and include electricity needed to run the washer and energy needed for drying. Washers that extract more water are scored higher.

Water efficiency:
This score denotes how much water it took to wash our 8-pound load and each machine's maximum load. On models that didn't set the fill level automatically, we used the lowest fill setting that sufficed for the 8-pound load. We then calculated water used per pound of clothing.

Comment:
It's a pretty w/d set with a cute tune that it plays. That's it. It doesn't get the clothes clean, because it doesn't use enough water. I hate it. I give anything to have my old GE back.

Comment:
This is a good washer, cleans clothes well.
I always wash my clothes on the quick cycle because the cycle are generally 10-20 minutes longer than the timer says. The loads always have to re calibrate the spinning tub. Clothes usually spin almost dry, but as for towels, they never wring well. If you wash more than 5 bath towels, the tub shakes alot and the towels come out wet & heavy. Not big enough for king size comforters.

Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Comment:
I have the dryer stacked on top of the washer on a concrete floor. After a small adjustment to the washer legs I haven't had any problems with vibration.
The normal cycle does take 1 hour to complete, which is longer than my previous front loading washer, but there is a quick cycle. The washer spins the clothes very well, so they dry pretty quickly. I also like that the normal cycle is adjustable (spin speed, water temp, etc.).
