About - Maytag MHWE300VF

The MHWE300VF is a front-loading washing machine available from Maytag. The MHWE300VF typically costs between $745.00 - $899.00.

Consumer Reports recommends that you match the features on a model to the needs you have. Here's our take on some of the specifications and features that are commonly available on front-loading washing machine models like the MHWE300VF.

Energy star:
The federal Energy Star program, administered by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, identifies a wide range of home appliances that use 10-50% less energy and water than standard models. These appliances can help you use less energy at home and save money on your utility bills.

Stainless-steel tub:
Tubs constructed of stainless steel are likely to be more durable than plastic or porcelain, and they allow for higher spin speeds. Plastic is the next most durable choice.

Auto temp. control:
This feature automatically mixes hot and cold water to reach the chosen wash temperature (which differs on various makes of washers). It's a good way to compensate for normal variations in tap-water temperature and prevents problems caused by water that's too cold, which keeps detergent from working properly.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

On Black Friday 2009 we bought a Maytag MHWE300VF Washing Machine from the[...] The machine worked fine until it reached the spin cycle. It would spin for a minute or two and then stop. The loads were always sodden. The repair company sent out by Maytag were unable to fix the problem, citing a faulty computer board and Maytag replaced the machine. The second machine had EXACTLY the same problem, where the machine would not spin longer than a minute or two of the spin cycle. Maytag wanted to go through the whole rigmarole of sending out technicians again. However, because we'd been stuck without a working washing machine for two months, we chose to deal with[...] instead the second time around.[...] replaced it with a GE WBVH5300KWW which we couldn't be happier with!Because both brand new models had the exact same problem, we suspect this particular machine is a lemon.
