Washer always gets stuck with motor grinding and slooow draining. Can't say we are pleased with quality of cleanliness of clothes either. Did a lot of online research prior to buying. Wish we would have paid more attention to negative reviews. I will never purchase Maytag or any of its brands again. Have matching dryer that takes 3 hours to dry large load of towels. Big waste of money. Will be replacing both soon after less than 2 years.

Comment:
Just got the MVWB750YW. Reviews of the Maytag top loaders were not encouraging. However, our retailer recommended it as one of the best on the market. First load consisted of towels; it became unbalanced and attempted to correct using a program. This didn't work. I rearranged the towels and tried again without success. I finally powered the macnine off, which emptied the tub. Then I used the Rinse/Drain/Spin cycle; that completed the wash. The second load consisted of colored clothing. This washed without incident. Third load consisted of whites; this also ran without incident. The clothes smelled fresh and looked clean when dry. The machine ran quietly in the laundry room. I used a half capful of All with Oxy Clean and no fabric softener for each load. I added fabric softener sheets to the dryer. Overall, I was quite pleased with quality of the wash and feel much less apprehensive about the machine. I will see what happens over time. You see, I liked the Maytag Neptune frontloader when I first got it. And it turned out to be a lemon due to all the mold build-up. So we got rid of it after a year of use. I swore that I would never buy another Maytag again because they wasted my money. Yet, here I am again; and so far quite pleased.

Machine does clean clothes well when it works. My machine has had 4 major breakdowns on the computer module that runs the machine in the 4 years I have owned it. Also the cycles and what you can include in the choices seem very touchy. The fact that there is no filter for coins and anything left in pockets on accident end up in the pump and cause the pump to fail which was a huge bill to repair. I have the back panel of the machine and hose to the pump off at least once a month on my own now since I saw where the repair man worked on it to replace the cracked pump from the coins.I retrieve coins on a regular basis and yes I do check my pockets before washing. This seems like a stupid over site for a washing machine engineer to not think when designing a washing machine. They either are adolescents who have never washed a load of clothes or come from old money and have maids and houseboys to do their laundry. I would never buy this product if I were you.
