About - Quinny Zapp

The Quinny Zapp is part of the stroller test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, traditional stroller models like the Zapp are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Ease of use:
Ease of use is based primarily on ease of safety harness use, folding and unfolding, adjusting backrest, lifting and carrying, engaging wheel brakes and car seat removal and installation (only for compatible strollers).

Maneuverability:
Maneuverability was assessed by trained staffers on how well the strollers maneuvered S-turns through cones, narrow sections, grass, dirt trails, uphill, downhill and curbs while walking.

Safety:
Safety is assessed by testing for compliance with the most current version of the standard, ASTM F833-11, and stability and usage tests designed by Consumers Union.

Comment:
This is an AWESOME stroller, especially if you want one that is attractive. It's very sleek and comes in some great colors. You have to know what you're getting though - it's essentially a fancy umbrella stroller. There's no storage to speak of, and it doesn't recline. The sun canopy is basic - we're not talking 180 degrees of coverage. And if you put anything on the handles, it will tip. That sounds like a lot of drawbacks and if you're looking for the one stroller to do it all and still be tiny and lightweight, this isn't for you. It handles like a dream, and the one step break system is FABULOUS. It also folds down very, very small. If you have a small trunk -this is your stroller. I highly recommend it for a 2nd stroller for quick errands, walks, family events, etc. It's especially great for air travel!

Comment:
I fell in love with my Quinny because of the styling; then I took it for a spin, and loved the handling. My partner replies, yes, he'd recommend it if we were in a Daytona 500 for strollers, and feels that lack of cup/bottle holder and limited storage under the seat are real drawbacks. That pales when another parent on the street remarks, cool stroller! I'm surprised CR hasn't posted stroller pix - the look became a high priority for me only because the ugly ones are REALLY ugly - clunky, plastic-y, a turn-off.
