Childhood obesity


Many parents have trouble telling if their children are overweight, according to a Consumer Reports phone survey that polled 609 parents of children ages 5 to 17. Only 4 percent of survey respondents described their children as being 20 percent or more above their ideal weight. But Consumer Reports found that 19 percent of those children fell in that category.
