Comment:
I've owned the Triton 1500 with California Maps for almost 3 years. I've upgraded the firmware several times have found new useful features in each release. All of the above comments apply except for setup. Newer firmware fixes setup. Magellan appears to be building the features as they sell them.

TOPO software can be difficult to load to unit however, all of this is worth it when you have a full 24000 map at your hand when you need it. I hike regularly in the San Bernadino Mtns and Mojave Desert and can always find any detail I need. I have used it through at least a thousand cycles and found it reliable and no issues with controls. The LED lights have been helpful on several occasions as well. I had a Garmin ETrek Vista for 8 years and it was good but could only handle 100000 maps.
