Comment:
Purchased unit as a gift for parents. Set it up at their home with an HDMI connection. DVD/Blu-ray discs played well. Remote looked nice and automatically synced with the Samsung LCD TV.

WiFi connectivity was atrocious. Signal strength reported by the player was low despite the router being located in an adjacent room. All other wireless devices work great throughout the entire house. Signal kept dropping and Netflix never got passed the login screen. The Netflix app itsself ran very slow when trying to load. One of the main reasons I purchased this unit was for the built-in Wifi.

Reboxed the unit and sent it back to the retailer noting it as defective.

I bought the BD5700 after reviewing CR's reviews to replace a Samsung BD P 3600. Samsung refunded my money for the defective BD P 3600 and I purchased the Samsung BD5700. The only problem after owning it for a year is that at times it freezes during loading. You have to restart the player when this happens which is annoying. Samsung however supports their products and that's why I continue being loyal to this company. It plays everything DVD,AVI,BluRay, movies on flashdrives etc. The on-line applications work great Pandora, Netflix,YouTube. For the price it's a bargain because it's a good machine.
