Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have had this product for about 1 month. It was easy to set up and the speakers were easy to calibrate because the system came with a microphone which allows for an autocalibration setup of the speakers. This is the first home theater system that we have had. Our family room is 25' square, and these small speakers are definitely not too small for this size of a room. My wife and daughters won't let me turn the volume above "30" which I think is about half as loud as the system will go. The speakers sound very nice with cds. It is easy to use the iPod with this unit. I disagree with the Consumer Reports review that the base is a "one note" item. I consider the base quality quite good.
