In our lab tests, home theater system models like the HT-BD1250 are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below. Sound quality: Sound quality represents tonal accuracy and ability to reproduce fine sonic detail of the front speakers, subwoofer, center-channel speaker, and surround speakers. Sound quality judgments are made with the system optimized using its own auto speaker set-up function (if so equipped), and with its own tone controls and/or pre-set tone settings (if any) adjusted for most balanced sound. HD picture quality: Scores of this picture-quality test indicate the sharpness, detail, color accuracy, and freedom from motion artifacts of images on HDTVs when the unit plays prerecorded high-definition Blu-ray videodiscs at 1080p video resolution via an HDMI connection. Decent all around system w/ some quirks

Pros:

Anynet, Easy To Setup, Interfaces Well With TV, Intuitive Controls

Cons:

Audio channels fail, Slow load of Blue Ray

Best Uses:

General Use, Movies, Smaller Rooms

How long have you owned it:

More than six months

Delivers nice 1080p HD with blueray. Upconverts DVDs well and almost looks as good as bluerays. Has two digital audio inputs for game console or something else. Includes Ipod dock. Anynet+ is nice feature for syncing with other Samsung products. Sound is only ok. Not to bad, I guess, for a all around system. Bluerays are slow to load and sometimes player won't read and will have to re-load. Some audio channels suddenly turn off during blueray play. For example, surround speakers and bass will be on but central speaker will suddenly turn off.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I use the product in a 15X15 family room setting to support a HDTV, primarily for TV, and sporting events.
Blu-Ray is excellent!
Very nice compact system, that is well priced, and gives you what you ask for. It's not a earth-shaker, but very competent within it's range of functionality.
